HOUSE RULES
The house is an older, traditional Finnish log cottage, which is part of its charm. It is not a brand-new modern house, and some floors, doors, windows and other details may show signs of age or behave a little differently from what you are used to. We kindly ask you to treat the cottage with care and respect.Â
Take care of the cottage
Please treat the house, furniture and equipment well. If anything is accidentally damaged or stops working, please let us know as soon as possible. Damage caused by negligence or misuse may be charged.
Keep it warm
Finnish winters can be very cold, please keep all exterior doors and windows closed and never switch off the heating completely. The cottage needs to hold a steady warm temperature to make sure no water pipes are freezing. If the cottage feels unusually cold or something with the heating seems wrong, please contact us.
Shoes off, please
Please do not wear shoes inside the cottage. This is especially important during winter, when snow, salt and dirt can damage the floors. Spiked winter shoes and ice grips can cause scratches and permanent damage to the wooden floor.
Fireplace
Please use the fireplace only according to the provided instructions. Never leave a fire unattended, keep flammable items away, and keep the chimney doors closed. Never use the fireplace for burning anything other than the provided firewood.
Sauna
Please only keep the sauna heating while it is needed for your sauna session. Do not heat for a lot in advance and once you are finished, please switch the sauna off. The stove is gets very hot and it can overheat the bathroom and pipes there.Â
Before you leave
Final cleaning is included, so no deep cleaning is needed. We simply ask you to leave the cottage tidy: dishes washed or in the dishwasher, rubbish in the designated bins, furniture returned to its place and personal belongings taken with you.
Smoking & nature
Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside. Please respect the surrounding nature, do not leave rubbish outdoors and treat our peaceful surroundings with care.
When would you like to stay?
Minimum three nights stay required. If you are interested in staying during a month that is currently blocked, feel free to contact us directly — we may be able to accommodate your request.
